This week we started to design our first Pavilions. I was grouped with 4 other students and we were given the topic of 'Everyone look at the Moon' to start our story. The story we picked out was that 'What scares me is the fact that we know more about space then we do about our oceans.' We started by throwing some loose ideas around until we came to the idea of a dark box covered with facts about both the Ocean and Space. The idea behind this is that the amount of Ocean facts would be far less than the facts we had about Space. We utilized a shelf nearby for a frame work and covered the outside in cardboard to write our facts on.
We ended up running out of time to fully cover the walls in facts but what we had still made a good experience for people to step into. We could possibly take this further by having a larger space and having planets hang from the ceiling at different heights so the users were looking inwards as well as outwards.
